UEFA have just indirectly delivered some potentially exciting news to Nottingham Forest

UEFA are awaiting a decision from the CAS as to whether it will be Crystal Palace or Nottingham Forest in the Europa League next season.

Crystal Palace were found guilty last week of not complying with multi-ownership criteria, with former director John Textor failing to place his Eagles shares into a blind trust.

That is likely to see Forest promoted to the Europa League, although with Palace appealing, there is no official confirmation at this stage.

Now, there have potentially been some indirect developments that should excite the Forest fan base.

UEFA have just done something that could excite Forest fans

The news of the appeal hasn’t yet been announced officially by the CAS, but do UEFA know something that the general public doesn’t?

On the UEFA website, Forest have now been included among the teams set to compete in the Europa League, with Palace placed among the clubs in the Conference League.

Forest have been placed alongside Aston Villa under the England section, with Palace looking set to face the two-legged play-off required to enter the group stages of the Conference League.

It would be a huge boost to Forest financially if the Europa League was secured and the hope will be that UEFA have been given some sort of directive from the CAS and an announcement is imminent.

Forest need to step up recruitment drive

With Anthony Elanga signing for Newcastle and Morgan Gibbs-White tipped to join Tottenham, Forest are looking desperately light when it comes to attacking quality.

Jacob Ramsey has been linked with Forest and that level of signing would definitely be one which the fan base could get behind ahead of next season.

Being in the Europa League could certainly help Forest when it comes to attracting players to the club and hopefully, official confirmation can come very soon.
