Nottingham Forest are in the market for some new players this summer, with European football on the horizon.
Anthony Elanga has signed for Newcastle so far in the transfer window, with Andrew Omobamidele and Danilo also departing the City Ground.
Things could get worse for Forest, too, with Morgan Gibbs-White continuing to be linked with a move to Champions League outfit Tottenham.
Forest head coach Nuno Espirito Santo wants at least four new players, although that was the figure doing the rounds before Elanga and potentially Gibbs-White were sold.
As a result, the Reds need to get busy when it comes to recruitment, with Forest making a bid for Dan Ndoye to try and get their Elanga replacement sourced.

Dan Ndoye once made claim about Remo Freuler
Ndoye wouldn’t be the first player from Switzerland to play for Forest, with Remo Freuler playing for the club as recently as 2022/23.
The midfielder linked up with Ndoye when he returned to Serie A with Bologna in the summer transfer window of 2023, and the pair knew each other from the national team.
Speaking during a recent international break, Ndoye admitted he thoroughly enjoyed playing alongside Freuler with Bologna.
He told Blue Win: “I’m very proud that we all play for Bologna regularly. We’ve met up regularly from the start. The three of us have a very good relationship and I enjoy playing alongside them.”
Freuler didn’t really hit his straps at Forest and moved on after just a single season in which he made 33 appearances for the Reds in the Premier League.
Ndoye would bump into familiar face at Forest
At 24, Ndoye has a nice profile for a Forest signing, and he would be a very adequate replacement for the departed Elanga.
He would also need no help settling at Forest, with Nicolas Dominguez playing twice alongside Ndoye during his time at Bologna before switching to England.
Ndoye scored nine goals and claimed nine assists last season and bigger clubs, most notably the reigning Italian champions Napoli, have been courting him.
Freuler didn’t have the best of times on the pitch at Forest but if Ndoye asked anything about the city and the club’s supporters, he would surely be willing to endorse the move to the City Ground.
