West Ham rival Nottingham Forest for ‘special’ £35m star, there’s a problem for both clubs

Nottingham Forest are keen to sign a number of players before the new season gets underway, with the links starting to come thick and fast.

Forest have made a bid for Dan Ndoye, with the Bologna winger agreeing personal terms over a move to the City Ground if the two clubs can agree on a deal.

Anthony Elanga has been sold to Newcastle this summer and with Morgan Gibbs-White attracting interest too, the options in the final third have been seriously depleted.

Forest are now starting to step up their efforts to bring more players to Trentside and with European football on the horizon, the hope will be that more bodies can come to the club in the next week or so.

Forest face competition for James McAtee

According to The Telegraph, Forest face competition for McAtee, with West Ham and Dortmund both monitoring the situation over the Manchester City player this summer.

McAtee is up for sale this summer and although the clubs interested value the player at around £25 million, City are keen to recoup £35 million for his services.

McAtee was called ‘special’ by Pep Guardiola and in an ideal world, he’d likely fancy keeping him at the Etihad Stadium, but the player holds a desire to play regular football.

Forest and West Ham are the two clubs really pushing to sign him this summer and it remains to be seen whether or not a deal can be struck between the clubs.

Forest have problem when it comes to McAtee

Sadly for Forest – and for West Ham – this transfer might be a non-starter, with the player having a desire to play football in the Champions League.

Forest narrowly missed out on that possibility last season and now a club like Dortmund or Frankfurt might hold the aces to completing his signature.

McAtee has played a number of games for City but most of his appearances have come either from the bench or in cup competitions.

The fact he wants to play in the Champions League might tempt him into waiting to see what is out there and that might make this deal a hard one to complete.
