Nottingham Forest are in the market for new wingers following the departure of Anthony Elanga to Newcastle and Dan Ndoye is seemingly the top target right now.

Ndoye has given the green light to Forest and now negotiations are ongoing between the Reds and Bologna as the clubs try to thrash out a deal.

Elanga moving to Newcastle has come as a shock to Forest and the hope will be that the wait for a replacement doesn’t go on much longer, with the new season less than a month away.

Ndoye was injured in a pre-season game on Sunday after a robust tackle just 20 seconds into the contest and now the Reds will await news of any potential injury.

What Dan Ndoye said when he was injured for Bologna

It’s a real shame that Ndoye picked up this injury, although it does feel as though he will be fine after walking off the field without assistance.

Ndoye scored nine goals and claimed six assists during the 2024/25 campaign, and he could prove to be a very useful signing for Forest.

It’s been claimed by Tutto Mercato Web that Ndoye said ‘I’m done here’ following his decision to storm off the pitch, clearly unhappy at the nature of the challenge that he found himself on the wrong end of.

Ndoye will now have to wait for any possible prognosis on the injury and the hope will be that he can dust himself off quickly and eventually move to Forest.

Forest can’t delay over Ndoye

Napoli have been looking into the possibility of signing Ndoye too and that is a clear indication that Forest need to be quick with this one.

The 24-year-old fits the criteria of a Forest signing over the last couple of years and given that Bologna want around £40 million, there is a sense that he could easily maintain some resale value.

Ndoye would be a natural option to replace Elanga and although he doesn’t have the same degree of pace, his trickery would make him a very useful addition.

Hopefully, this setback proves to be nothing and given his comments after yesterday’s game, it would appear that the player is happy to move to Forest.
