What Nottingham Forest have now done to Tottenham regarding Morgan Gibbs-White sale

Nottingham Forest are entering saga territory when it comes to the situation involving Morgan Gibbs-White.

A little over a week ago it was believed that Gibbs-White was going to sign for Tottenham, with Daniel Levy finding a loophole that allowed a £60 million release clause in the contract of the Forest number 10.

However, Evangelos Marinakis has gone on the attack, believing that Spurs didn’t meet the criteria for the release clause to be activated and for now, Gibbs-White remains at the City Ground.

Forest need this situation resolved one way or another and the Reds will be working tirelessly to try and convince Gibbs-White to sign a new deal with the club.

What Nottingham Forest have now with Tottenham over Morgan Gibbs-White interest

The bridges might just have been burned between Marinakis and Tottenham owner Daniel Levy following this debacle.

Sky Sports reporter Rob Dorsett said live on air yesterday that Marinakis has now shut down all communications with Tottenham over the sale of Gibbs-White.

It’s claimed that as of now, there has been no progress on the deal and Gibbs-White will act in a business-as-usual sense at Forest.

Gibbs-White didn’t travel to Portugal for the Forest training camp yesterday, but that was over a personal issue and ultimately, he will link up later in the week once things are resolved.

Forest need reinforcements sharpish

Forest have been linked with Dan Ndoye this summer and he’d be a useful third signing after Igor Jesus and Jair Cunha checked in from Botafogo.

After losing several players this summer, it’s important that Forest get in on the act when it comes to incoming deals and bring some players to the club themselves.

Losing Gibbs-White would be tough to swallow but it would be easier to comprehend should it take place sooner rather than later, allowing Forest to reinvest further in the squad.

Marinakis is a tough owner to deal with and as far as Tottenham are concerned, he might now prove completely impossible when it comes to Gibbs-White.
