The situation involving the future of Morgan Gibbs-White at Nottingham Forest needs to be resolved one way or another very quickly.
The number 10 has been the subject of interest, with Tottenham believing they’d won the race to sign Morgan Gibbs-White almost two weeks ago.
However, Evangelos Marinakis started legal proceedings against Tottenham after they booked a medical and contacted the player despite the club not accepting the bid from Spurs.
Gibbs-White played for Forest against Monaco on Saturday and the whole situation just feels a little bit messy to say the very least.
With Forest heading to Portugal for a pre-season training camp, an intriguing claim was made about whether or not Gibbs-White would go and now there has been an update of sorts.

John Percy delivers update on Morgan Gibbs-White
Some eagle-eyed Tottenham fans had claimed that Gibbs-White wasn’t with the Forest team after a supporter posted a video of the team arriving at Faro Airport.
Tottenham fans would be right to suggest that Gibbs-White isn’t with the Forest team – because right now, he isn’t!
The Forest attacking midfielder has been given a leave of absence for a matter completely outside of football, with John Percy now clearing up the situation on social media.
He posted: Morgan Gibbs-White has not travelled with the #nffc squad to Portugal today – this is due to a private and personal matter completely unrelated to football. MGW is expected to join up with the team later this week.”
Gibbs-White situation needs resolution
The hope will be that Gibbs-White can sort out his personal issue that seemingly involves his pregnant girlfriend, and hopefully, his second child can be born without any complications.
Once that is sorted, Forest and Tottenham must resolve the issue with regard to this transfer with the hope that Gibbs-White will remain on Trentside.
A new contract would be quite something to end this debacle, although that probably does feel a little bit unlikely at this stage, given all the water under the bridge.
Gibbs-White has given everything to Forest over the past three seasons and whatever happens, he deserves the best wishes of the fan base.
