Champions make ‘new’ bid for £39m-rated star but he only wants to sign for Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest are stepping up their efforts to sign players this summer.

It’s been a pretty frugal summer so far with Forest signing Igor Jesus and Jair Cunha from Botafogo as the sole signings of the window.

Forest sold Anthony Elanga to Newcastle, and as a result, it’s somewhat worrying that a replacement for him hasn’t yet arrived at the City Ground.

Evangelos Mariankis wants Manchester City to bid for Morgan Gibbs-White, and if he goes, the need for incoming recruits will become panic stations.

Forest are being linked with Dan Ndoye as a top target and now some worrying news has emerged.

Napoli make new bid for Dan Ndoye

The Serie A champions have been loitering for Ndoye since Forest started showing interest and now they’ve made their first approach.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Antonio Conte wants to take the player on loan for a season but include a clause that means Napoli have to buy him next summer.

Their offer will mean a £7 million fee being paid to take him on a season-long loan, with a transfer for £24 million taking place in 12 months.

However, all is not lost for Forest, with Ndoye agreeing personal terms with Forest and viewing the Reds as his priority move this summer.

Forest need to bid for Ndoye today

With Napoli a very attractive proposition right now, Forest have to get serious over Ndoye.

The player wants the move to Forest and there really is no time like the present when it comes to sending another bid through to Bologna.

Ndoye was quicker than Kylian Mbappe at the last European Championships and as a result, he’d be considered a brilliant replacement for Elanga.

Forest are once again at risk of missing out on a target, however, and really do need to get busy if they’re to beat Napoli to this signing.
