Nottingham Forest look to be facing a loss when it comes to the signing of Dan Ndoye.
The Bologna winger has been on the radar of Forest for a little while, but it feels as though Napoli have now stolen a march in the race for his signature.
Forest had agreed terms with Ndoye and there is still time for a late U-turn, but it feels as though the Swiss winger is now edging towards the Italian champions.
All is not lost, however, with Forest interested in James McAtee and also compiling a list of several other targets ahead of the new season.
Nuno Espirito Santo wants new players to arrive at Forest and with the pre-season training now in full swing, he will want newcomers to arrive sooner rather than later.

Nottingham Forest identify Dan Ndoye alternative
It would appear that Forest are going to move on quickly if it does become bad news regarding Ndoye.
Baris Alper Yilmaz looks to be the player identified as the alternative, with Europa Calcio claiming that Forest want a quick win for the Turkish player.
Galatasaray are looking for around £30 million for the winger and he’s already suggested that he’d be willing to come to the Premier League.
Yilmaz has experience of playing in Europe with his current club, with the player scoring 14 goals and registering six assists during the 2024/25 campaign.
Forest need to move quickly for Yilmaz
Being brutally honest, Ndoye might have been an ambitious signing from the off for Forest to try and complete.
He’s been Antonio Conte’s number one target for a while and Napoli were always going to try and bring him to the club this summer.
Forest have liked Yilmaz for a while and he could be a very useful player in the Premier League – just ask Virgil van Dijk!
After Turkey played Holland in an international match, Yilmaz was praised for how he’d made the Liverpool defender look ordinary.
Ali Ece, a Turkish pundit, said: “Baris Alper made the Dutch defence and Van Dijk vomit blood throughout the match.”
If Yilmaz can come to Forest and do that to more Premier League defenders, the Reds might be on to a winner next season.
