Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has made a major power player by tying Morgan Gibbs-White down to a brand new contract.
For all the world, it felt like Gibbs-White would be donning the white and blue of Tottenham this season but now he’s committed to Forest until 2028.
Reports claimed that Gibbs-White wanted Tottenham, but clearly, they were wide of the mark and now Forest can look forward to their vice-captain remaining at the club.
Forest were beaten 3-1 by Fulham as Nuno Espirito Santo played a very inexperienced eleven during the first 45 minutes, with the Forest head coach bringing Gibbs-White on at the interval.

Miltos Marinakis reacts as Morgan Gibbs-White signs new contract
Chris Wood has reacted to Gibbs-White’s new contract and now the son of Forest owner Marinakis has done the same.
It’s clearly proved a popular decision at the football club, with Gibbs-White a very popular member of the squad over the past three years since he first checked in.
Shortly after Marinakis made the announcement regarding Gibbs-White his son seemed to poke fun at Tottenham on social media, posting the words, ‘Plot twist’ in big capital letters on Instagram.
The Spurs fan base have been adamant that a deal was inevitable for Gibbs-White to join their club and now that might never happen.
Forest can look ahead to the new season with Gibbs-White as part of their squad and hopefully, the club’s recruitment drive can now pick up pretty quickly.
Forest must now get busy in the transfer market
Forest are heavily linked with Dan Ndoye and hopefully, there can be a breakthrough in terms of agreeing on a fee with Bologna this week.
The Reds need to get busy in the market with around three weeks to go until the new Premier League campaign gets underway.
Marinakis Jr is clearly happy to see his old man get this deal for Gibbs-White over the line and it showcases just how committed he is to the cause of improving Forest.
Losing Gibbs-White in the same window as Elanga would have been seriously detrimental and now, Forest can finally look forward instead of worrying about what is to come further down the line.
