Nottingham Forest are offloading one of their talented youngsters but it looks to be of benefit to all parties.

The Reds are trying to get a number of players out of the door before the window closes.

Anthony Elanga was sold to Newcastle in a high-profile departure, whilst others have since left the City Ground.

Ramon Sosa and Danilo have returned to Brazil, whilst Andrew Omobamidele has made a loan move to Strasbourg permanent.

Lewis O’Brien signed for Wrexham earlier this summer, with Joe Gardner, Kyle McAdam and Jamie McDonnell all joined Mansfield on loan.

Dale Taylor set to leave Nottingham Forest

The Northern Ireland international looks set for a bright future, but it won’t be at Nottingham Forest.

It’s now claimed that Taylor will leave the City Ground with Blackpool set to pay more than £1 million to secure his services.

Blackpool and Plymouth had been keen on Taylor, but it’s the Tangerines who are now set to land the striker after agreeing terms with the player.

Taylor has only made one first-team appearance on Trentside after signing for a small sum thought to be around £100,000 when he checked in from Linfield.

The young forward was instrumental as the under-18s reached the FA Youth Cup Final before losing to Manchester United during the 2021/22 campaign.

Forest have to show academy players that the pathway is clear

Taylor hasn’t quite made the grade at Forest but being a Premier League club makes that difficult for most players, let alone centre-forwards.

As a result, the time is right to let Taylor leave and put some roots down elsewhere and Forest are getting a good sum.

It’s now important that Nuno Espirito Santo proves that the pathway is clear for the young players, with the head coach using a number of them in pre-season.

Forest take a great deal of pride in their academy and Taylor now becomes the latest academy star to earn Forest a windfall of sorts.
