Nottingham Forest still have a number of areas in the squad that need addressing, but Evangelos Marinakis is set to solve one issue with a bid for an English talent.
In the aftermath of Forest signing Dan Ndoye, it was reported that Nuno Espírito Santo wanted five more signings to shore up his squad for domestic and UEFA competition.
One quickly came through the door as Angus Gunn arrived at Forest to add competition in the goalkeeping department.
However, there remain issues at full-back, especially, but the Reds have identified a target to support Neco Williams on the left side.

Nottingham Forest prepare bid for Leif Davis
Williams adapted brilliantly to the left-back role last season, becoming Nuno’s trusted option ahead of loanee Alex Moreno and Harry Toffolo.
With both now departed, though, Forest desperately require another option to support the Welshman with the extra workload of continental football this season.
According to Ben Jacobs, Forest are preparing a bid to sign Ipswich Town left-back Leif Davis, who has been of interest to Premier League sides ever since the Tractor Boys were relegated last season.
The 25-year-old made 33 Premier League appearances for Ipswich in what was always going to be a difficult season for the club, but Forest clearly feel that the left-back showed enough to deserve another shot at the top flight.
It’s a feeling that Davis himself also shares, with the Englishman already expressing his desire for another chance at the top flight.
Leif Davis wants another chance at Premier League football
Forest’s interest in Davis spans back to the end of the 24/25 season, clearly seeing an opportunity to pick up a talented full-back for a reasonable fee after Ipswich’s relegation.
It seems that the 25-year-old would be keen on the move as well, sharing his ambition to return to the top flight with the East Anglian Daily Times.
He said: “I’d say, from a personal perspective, I’ve been a bit disappointed by performances, knowing my quality. I lost a lot of confidence in games as well. It’s about building that confidence back up, because you’re playing against the best players in the world.
“[…] I know my qualities, I know I can play in this league. Hopefully I’ll be back here soon.”
It remains to be seen whether Forest will face competition in their pursuit, but Davis looks to be a player who would solve a crucial problem for Espírito Santo.
