Nottingham Forest are showing a significant interest in Ipswich Town winger Omari Hutchinson.

Nuno Espirito Santo is about to sign James McAtee from Manchester City for around £20m, and now the focus has turned to Hutchinson.

Forest have already had a £35m bid rejected for Hutchinson, with the Championship outfit remaining firm in their £40m valuation.

Now, Forest are considering another offer for Hutchinson, who is reportedly keen to return to the Premier League.

Nottingham Forest Supporters have a lot to say about that, as they’ve taken to X, formerly known as Twitter.

Nottingham Forest fans react to Omari Hutchinson development

Forest fans are actually pretty split on the Hutchinson deal, with some citing that he could play for England one day whilst others are horrified at the price tag.

“40m?? Rather have Bakwa for 30,” @jaleo51 posted.

“He adds to home grown quota which is important for Europe. With Anderson, McAtee and Hutchinson all playing together for u21s there’s already good chemistry. The problem is you’re always gonna pay the extra 5-10m for home-grown tax,” @Danielhadley14 said.

@RichardH1968 added: “There must be better value in the market than that £40m for this lad. Like that he’s a lefty though.”

@bradleymcd123 commented: “McAtee & Hutchinson are both probably future England players btw.. bring me both!”

Omari Hutchinson perfect for Nottingham Forest’s squad

Hutchinson can ply his trade off both flanks and as an attacking midfielder, so it gives Nuno and his staff plenty of options.

That versatility could be vital ahead of a congested fixture list with European commitments on the horizon for the Tricky Trees.

The 2003-born enjoyed a terrific under-21 European Championship this summer, and he actually played as a left-winger, hugging the touchline and putting in in-swinging crosses.

That type of winger really suits the strikers at the club, with Chris Wood, Igor Jesus and Taiwo Awoniyi all great in the air.

So, the deal makes a lot of sense for a multitude of different reasons.
