Nottingham Forest have been busy in the transfer market over the last week, signing three players to improve their squad.

Deals for James McAtee and Omari Hutchinson were announced ahead of their Premier League opener, while Arnaud Kalimuendo was announced on Monday morning.

Nuno Espirito Santo has been vocal about his squad needs, asking for more balance throughout his team, and it seems he will be getting his wish.

Forest are showing no sign of slowing down, and their next deals are set to be in specific areas of the pitch.

Nottingham Forest are targeting full-backs and central midfielders in transfer market

Nottingham Forest’s transfers over the last week have been primarily in the attacking areas of the pitch.

While James McAtee is a versatile option, his main role throughout his career so far has been as an attacking midfielder.

Omari Hutchinson has come in to strengthen the wide areas, and Kalimuendo has added reinforcements in the goalscoring department.

However, a report from The Telegraph has said that Nottingham Forest are now looking to do deals to improve their full-back and central midfield depth.

The report says that due to Ola Aina and Ibrahima Sangare likely being away on international duty for the African Cup of Nations, Forest want to have sufficient backups available.

If the duo are selected for their nations, they will be away at the tournament, which begins on the 21st of December and finishes on the 18th of January.

With Ola Aina and Ibrahima Sangare potentially away on international duty, they could miss some important games for the Tricky Trees.

Some of the bigger games they could miss include fixtures at home to Manchester City and Arsenal, as well as a potential crunch tie for a European spot away at Villa Park.

If Nottingham Forest do well in the League Cup, they could also be without the pair for the first leg of the semi-final.

With some important fixtures coming up throughout this period, signing quality players who can fill in will be essential.

Douglas Luiz is one name being eyed up for midfield, and a player of his ability would be an incredible signing for the Garibaldi.
