Arnaud Kalimuendo has been officially announced as a Nottingham Forest player, completing a triple swoop that also includes Omari Hutchinson and James McAtee.

Additionally, Forest are still working on a Douglas Luiz transfer, signalling business at the City Ground is far from over.

The arrival of the Frenchman provides much-needed depth up top, as Nottingham Forest are set to play in four competitions this season.

The signing also means that some players will benefit, while it could also signal bad news for others in the Forest squad.

Winners from Arnaud Kalimuendo’s Nottingham Forest arrival

Nuno Espírito Santo

Nuno Espírito Santo will be delighted to get the Frenchman through the door. Days before their Premier League opener against Brentford, Nuno complained about the state of his Forest squad.

The Portuguese manager claimed that there weren’t enough options in every position and that his squad was unbalanced.

However, now he has four strikers at his disposal, and it will certainly be a headache he will be happy to have.

Chris Wood

While the arrival of a new striker would be bad news for many forwards in terms of game time, Chris Wood will welcome Kalimuendo for the opposite.

The forward has started the season strong and already has two goals to his name this season; with no doubt he will be looking to build on it.

Last season Nottingham Forest had a heavy reliance on Chris Wood’s goals, with the New Zealand man netting 34% of their Premier League total.

However, with Kalimuendo joining the squad, Wood will have a lot more help in that area of the pitch. Additionally, the new arrival will provide the 33-year-old with plenty of opportunities to rest, allowing him to remain more consistent across the whole season.

Losers from Arnaud Kalimuendo’s Nottingham Forest arrival

Igor Jesus

Igor Jesus would have arrived at Nottingham Forest already aware that he was battling Chris Wood for the starting striker spot.

However, he may now have to battle both Wood and Kalimuendo. It is certainly a situation that Jesus won’t relish, but if he backs his talent, he could force his way up Nuno’s ranks.

He is new to the Premier League, so if he is able to adapt quickly, that could signal good news for the Brazilian.

Taiwo Awoniyi

Taiwo Awoniyi’s minutes were already at threat this season with the arrival of Igor Jesus, but the Nigerian could find himself as fourth choice.

He was an unused substitute against Brentford, with Nuno opting to replace Chris Wood with Jesus instead, signalling he was already down the pecking order.

With three players potentially ahead of him this season, his game time will be limited, and perhaps he may seek a move away in order to play.
