What ‘sources’ are saying about Nottingham Forest sacking Nuno Espírito Santo rumours

Nuno Espirito Santo has done a remarkable job at Nottingham Forest, guiding the club back into Europe for the first time since 1996.

The Portuguese manager’s squad has gone from strength to strength, despite losing key player Anthony Elanga.

While Nuno was worried about his squad ahead of the Brentford game, the higher-ups responded by bringing in James McAtee, Omari Hutchinson, Arnaud Kalimuendo and Douglas Luiz.

The arrivals of these players to boost the depth in the squad were exactly what Espirito Santo asked for, which is why reports that emerged on Friday morning about Nuno potentially being sacked were quite confusing.

However, Nottingham Forest have now responded to those claims made about their manager.

Nottingham Forest have no plans to replace Nuno Espírito Santo despite reports

It was news that Nottingham Forest fans definitely didn’t expect, but reports from Spain and Portugal suggested that Nuno Espírito Santo’s time at Forest could be coming to an end.

The report said considerations to sack the manager were due to, “Tensions between the ownership and the Portuguese coach also stem from certain signings during this transfer window.”

However, the news was quickly rebuffed by Greek journalist Konstantinos Lianos, who stated there were no plans to sack Nuno.

Lianos said, “My sources tell me Nottingham Forest are not planning to replace Nuno Espírito Santo.”

It would have been a sensational decision, especially considering that the manager had just been handed a new contract until 2028, and had been heavily backed in the transfer market this summer.

The Douglas Luiz signing has been described as good by pundits, and Dan Ndoye has already scored his first Premier League goal.

Nottingham Forest are hoping to build on their qualification for Europe, and having Nuno around will make that task all the easier.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s sacking would have ruined excellent Forest summer

Nottingham Forest have had one of the best transfer windows out of the Premier League clubs.

They have bought well, brought in high-quality players, and have given themselves a real chance at going far in the Europa League and repeating last season’s success.

Sacking Nuno Espírito Santo would have ruined everything that the club has done over the last year. The manager’s ability and style have been a major reason as to why Nottingham Forest jumped ten places in the Premier League table last season.

Forest fans will now be at ease that their manager is set to stay. While the suggestions that he could have been sacked were sensational, having confirmation that this isn’t the case
