Nottingham Forest are going in search of some new players before the transfer window closes next week.

Nuno Espirito Santo wants new full-backs and a goalkeeper as a bare minimum and other players could arrive at the City Ground before the deadline.

Dominik Livakovic has been identified by Forest as a goalkeeper target, with things likely to heat up in the coming days when it comes to the next clutch of signings.

Neco Williams and Ola Aina are the two full-backs in place right now and some backup for those two players is desperately being sought by the Reds.

Nottingham Forest in talks for Nahuel Molina

According to The Athletic, Forest have opened talks with Atletico Madrid over the finances to bring Molina to the Premier League this summer.

The 27-year-old has been with Atletico since 2022 when he joined from Udinese in Italy, with the player making 68 appearances for the Serie A outfit.

Molina has been a big player in Diego Simeone’s team since signing for Los Rojiblancos, making 136 appearances and managing 20 goal contributions.

A very forward-thinking right-back, Molina was part of the Argentina squad that won the World Cup in 2022 and at that tournament, he received praise from Lionel Messi.

However, Fabrizio Romano has suggested that although talks remain between the two clubs, it’s believed that Molina would ideally like to stay with Atletico.

Molina would be ideal backup to Ola Aina

The right-back position is arguably more urgent than the other side of the pitch, with Aina set to head off to the African Cup of Nations in January with Nigeria.

Molina would be a useful player to have in the Forest squad but perhaps the Reds are fighting a losing battle to get this one over the line.

As an Argentina international, perhaps Molina wants to be playing regular football and that is something that might not be possible at Forest.

The Reds do look to be increasing their attempts to sign full-backs, however, and hopefully, some activity can take place in the coming days.
