Nottingham Forest are in desperate need of reinforcements at left-back before the transfer window closes.
Neco Williams is in possession of the shirt right now and as good as he’s been, he’s not left-footed and with European football to contend with, it’s hard to imagine him playing at least 50 matches this season.
Viktor Kristiansen has been linked with Forest, with the Leicester defender almost certain to leave the King Power Stadium before the window closes following their relegation from the Premier League.
Nuno Espirito Santo wants at least three players before the deadline and now, another left-back has been added to the shortlist at the City Ground.

Nottingham Forest want Josh Doig
According to The Scottish Sun, Forest are looking into a deal to bring Sassuolo defender Doig back to the UK before the transfer window closes.
Doig helped the Italian outfit win promotion back to Serie A last season and Forest have now made contact with them in order to try and close a deal for the Scotland international.
The 23-year-old has been in Italy since 2023, when he signed for Hellas Verona from Hibernian and after 18 months there, he joined Sassuolo.
Now, there could be an opportunity for Doig to return to the UK with Forest as they look to finalise their defensive options ahead of the transfer deadline next Monday.
Doig could be a useful back-up for Neco Williams
Doig was called ‘excellent’ by Jack Ross when he was coming through the ranks with Hibernian and he does look set to enjoy a pretty decent career in the game.
The left-sided defender has a solitary Scotland cap and during a World Cup year, the player will want to be playing in a league where he can impress Steve Clarke.
Forest need a player who is left-footed to come in and help compete for the shirt with Williams, and Doig does have that in his locker.
Forest need to get a left-back over the line in the coming days and Doig fits the profile of a player that the Reds can view as a project and make him even better as a player in the future.
