Nottingham Forest are getting closer to an eleventh summer signing.

The Reds have already added 10 players to the squad prior to deadline day, with John Victor signing for Forest from Botafogo late on Sunday night.

Jota Silva might join Sporting CP and that will leave Forest in need of one more winger and it would appear that something is close to happening.

Nottingham Forest close to Dilane Bakwa signing

According to John Percy, Forest are now in advanced talks to sign Bakwa from Strasbourg, with things progressing at a frantic pace.

The physical winger will provide competition on the right-hand side and is primarily a left-footed player who boasts the ability to cut inside.

In further developments, Tom Collomosse from the Daily Mail has claimed that a medical is booked for the talented 23-year-old.

It feels as though this one might now get over the line and Forest will be extremely well stocked in the wide areas on the back of Anthony Elanga, leaving earlier this summer to sign for Newcastle.

Bakwa will be a quality signing for Forest

The Ligue 1 star has been linked with Leeds and Fulham at various points across the summer, but Forest look to have got their man.

Bakwa will probably compete with Omari Hutchinson for a place in the team, with Dan Ndoye and Callum Hudson-Odoi viewed as the options for the right-hand side.

At 23, there is significant scope for Bakwa to improve and the hope will be that he can replace the number of goal contributions that Elanga posted in 2024/25.

This one has been brewing all summer for Forest and with Strasbourg now qualified for the UEFA Conference League, they’re clearly willing to let the player depart for Forest on deadline day.
