Nottingham Forest ‘progressing’ on another deal alongside Dilane Bakwa

Nottingham Forest’s move for Dilane Bakwa looks to be the centrepiece of their deadline day business, but he may not be the only incoming at the City Ground.

Forest had a £27m bid for Bakwa rejected in the middle of August as the deal for the Strasbourg winger looked to be getting away from the Reds, but a deadline-day push has changed the scenario.

After a £35m deal was reached, Bakwa’s Forest medical is now booked to get the deal over the line, adding a final piece to Nuno Espírito Santo’s attacking jigsaw.

However, he’s not the only incoming set to be finalised at the City Ground, with transfer expert Graeme Bailey revealing information to Nottingham Forest News.

Cuiabano and Dilane Bakwa expected to sign for Nottingham Forest today

Arguably even more important than another winger was a left-back, with Cuiabano set to sign for Forest to cover that role.

On both of those deals, Bailey has spoken to Nottingham Forest News about the details surrounding the two signings.

Bailey said: “I am told that Forest talks over Bakwa and Cuiabano are progressing; two players have done a lot of work on this summer. Forest love these two players and to get them in would be a cherry on top of their transfer cake for this summer.

“As it stands, I expect both to get done. It doesn’t need the likes of Awoniyi or Jota to leave but they are looking to do so.”

Good news for the City Ground faithful then that outgoing deals are not linked to the arrivals of Bakwa and Cuiabano, but there may be a twist to the Brazilian’s signing.

Potential twist in Cuiabano’s arrival at Nottingham Forest

Cuiabano will arrive as the natural back-up for Neco Williams on the left, but Bailey has revealed to Nottingham Forest News that there is a chance that the 22-year-old could depart the City Ground on loan.

The Brazilian hasn’t been first choice at Botafogo due to the presence of Alex Telles, so perhaps the club are unsure as to whether he can adapt to the Premier League immediately.

However, this would leave the Reds short once more at left-back, so it remains to be seen whether Forest have something else up their sleeve if Cuiabano is allowed to leave on loan.
