Nottingham Forest have completed the deadline day capture of another Brazilian player.

The Reds have been busy on the final day of the summer window, which will come as no surprise whatsoever to Forest supporters.

Forest landed John Victor this morning to kick-start a busy day and now he’s been joined by another player from Botafogo.

Dilane Bakwa has also been linked with Forest and hopefully that one can still go through this evening.

However, in the meantime, another transfer has come to fruition, with the Reds landing another exciting South American player.

Nottingham Forest sign Cuiabano

Forest have moved to sign Cuiabano after waiting the entire summer to land another option to rival Neco Williams for his place at left-back.

The Brazilian checks in to provide competition after Forest pulled out of a deal for Javi Galan earlier this evening.

Ross Wilson has hailed Cuiabano after Forest signed him this evening and it would appear that it’s a deal that he’s happy to get this one over the line.

He said on the club’s official website: “This summer has been about ensuring we have quality and depth in every position, whilst also identifying talented young players from across the world who can play a crucial role in our long-term development as a club.

“Tracked by a lot of clubs, Cuiabano is an exciting player with a lot of potential. At just 22 years old, he has already gained significant experience for a player of his age and we are excited for what his future holds.”

Cuiabano has bags of potential

At 22-years-old this feels like a project signing and it will be fascinating to see what he can do at Forest.

In the short term, he might have to wait patiently for a chance to shine but this does feel like a decent piece of business.

Cuiabano has experience playing regularly in Brazil and perhaps crucially, it’s worth noting that he can also play further up the pitch on the wing.
