Nottingham Forest’s hunt for a left-back has ended, with the signing of Cuiabano set to be confirmed before the transfer deadline.

The Brazilian arrives from Botafogo and will provide cover and competition for Neco Williams in the Forest defence.

The 22-year-old has been a long-term target this summer, and Nuno Espirito Santo will be happy to finally get the deal over the line.

And with the deal all but finalised, the player is already trying to settle into life at the City Ground as seen by what he did after his medical was completed.

Cuiabano has met his Nottingham Forest teammates already

Cuiabano has wasted no time in getting to know everyone in and around Nottingham Forest.

After completing his medical, the defender made his way to the Forest training ground and has already met his new teammates.

Sky Sports News reporter Anton Toloui was speaking on the network’s Deadline Day show at 2:45 pm saying, ‘We know [Cuiabano’s] coming in today because we’ve seen him here at the club’s training ground.’

‘He came in after he passed his medical this morning to meet his new teammates after the training session today. He’s been and gone. That deal will be confirmed later on today.’

Nottingham Forest fans will now be looking forward to watching their new defender in action following the international break.

And that break could be coming at a good time for the latest signing.

Nuno Espirito Santo will have lots of time with Cuiabano over the international break

For Cuiabano, he is joining Nottingham Forest at the perfect time.

There is set to be an international break, and it will provide Nuno Espirito Santo with a chance to work with the defender, and to take a closer look at him.

During this period, the Portuguese can drill his tactical ideas into the player, and make sure he is better prepared for when club football returns to action.

With plenty of games this season for the Tricky Trees, the Brazilian will certainly need to be called upon on multiple occasions.
