Nottingham Forest have signed Dilane Bakwa from Strasbourg in a deal that has been a long time coming.
The Reds have been linked with Bakwa for a little while this summer, and on transfer deadline day, the club finally managed to get it over the line.
Forest announced Bakwa a couple of hours after the transfer window had slammed shut, with the Frenchman part of a hectic deadline day that saw four new players arrive.
The forward bagged six goals and claimed nine assists last season as Strasbourg – led by former Derby manager Liam Rosenior – qualified for the UEFA Conference League.
As he gets his feet under the table at Forest, he’s posted a very emotional message on social media, thanking the Ligue 1 outfit for everything they’ve done for him.

Nottingham Forest signing Dilane Bakwa posts emotional Instagram message
Shortly after being announced as a new Forest player, Bakwa chose to send a message to the people he’s left behind in France.
Strasbourg has been a huge part of the 23-year-old’s career, and he’s been keen to pay respect to the club that he’s now left.
He said on Instagram: It’s hard to find the words… When I joined this club, I never imagined I would experience such a powerful adventure, both on a human and sporting level. Here, I found brothers, friends, and people who marked a turning point in my career. Thank you to the management, the coach, the staff, and all those who have supported me on and off the pitch to help me grow. Thank you especially to you, RCSA supporters, for your unwavering love and support. I am proud and grateful to have written this beautiful chapter of my career alongside you. I wish you the best for the coming season and those that follow. 💙 Dilane.”
Andrey Santos sends message to Dilane Bakwa
The midfielder played for just seven minutes in the Premier League, with Santos starring with Strasbourg during his time on loan with the club.
Clearly, the man who couldn’t win Steve Cooper over at Forest was close to Bakwa, and after he joined Forest, he posted a message to the winger on his Instagram.
It simply read, ‘Thanks for everything’ and now Santos will be hoping to come up against Bakwa when the Reds meet Chelsea later in the season.
Bakwa feels like an exciting capture and once the domestic action returns, it will be fascinating to see what the young forward can achieve with Forest.
