Nottingham Forest have sacked Nuno Espirito Santo after his relationship broke down with Evangelos Marinakis and, most notably, Edu.
Nuno and Edu had a fractured relationship pretty much from the get-go, and that put Evangelos Marinakis in a difficult position.
Marinakis wanted unity, but once the Portuguese head coach publicly criticised the club, it was always going to end in one way.
Since the sacking, it has come out that Forest were quite concerned about Nuno’s eye for a player, and now there is another revelation regarding a signing he didn’t want in the summer.

The three Nottingham Forest signings Nuno didn’t want
It’s well documented that Nuno wasn’t totally aligned with Nottingham Forest’s recruitment this summer, despite a spend of over £200m.
The former Wolves manager wanted Adama Traore, but the club weren’t convinced and decided to focus on other targets.
Now, according to the Daily Mail, it’s just come out that Nuno didn’t want Omari Hutchinson, Douglas Luiz and Cuiabano.
Hutchinson and Luiz are yet to start a Premier League game, and the former was actually left out of the Europa League squad.
Cuiabano has already been sent on loan just days after signing on a permanent deal. It’s understood he was shocked by the decision to return him to Botafogo.
Nottingham Forest board were ‘puzzled’ by Nuno’s mixed signals
It’s also just come out that Forest chiefs were left ‘puzzled’ by Nuno’s mixed signals as he initially requested two players for every position before seemingly going back on that.
Marinakis sanctioned a spending spree once the club’s position in the Europa League was confirmed, but that didn’t seem to go down well with the 51-year-old.
Nuno wanted to work with a smaller squad, however, with European commitments, that seemed to be a strange stance.
Anyhow, it looks as though Ange Postecoglou will be appointed later today ahead of this weekend’s clash against Arsenal at the Emirates.
