Nuno Espírito Santo’s time at Nottingham Forest has come to an end, with the likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi taking to social media to react to the departure of his head coach.

It felt as if it was coming for a number of weeks, as Evangelos Marinakis’ fury at Nuno’s conduct in press conferences eventually pushed the Forest owner into making a decision.

With Espírito Santo falling out with Edu behind the scenes, the Reds hierarchy clearly couldn’t continue with the Portuguese boss at the helm, swiftly moving to appoint Ange Postecoglou as Forest’s new head coach.

However, it’s clear that the tension was not present between Nuno and his squad, shown in Hudson-Odoi’s reaction to the departure.

Callum Hudson-Odoi delivers tribute to Nuno Espírito Santo

It’s already been seen through Neco Williams’ tribute to Espírito Santo that the dressing room remained behind their manager.

The respect has continued to be shown through Hudson-Odoi, who has taken to Instagram to post a heart-warming tribute to Espírito Santo.

Hudson-Odoi said: “Thank you for everything Boss! I learnt a lot from you and made some great memories along the way. I wish you nothing but the best for the future in your new chapter.”

It’s not surprising to see the winger be so public in his respect for Espírito Santo, given what he has previously said about the now former Reds boss.

The dressing room atmosphere was a key aspect of Forest’s success last season, something that Postecoglou will have to maintain at the City Ground.

This atmosphere was evident when Espírito Santo signed a new contract over the summer, leading to Hudson-Odoi publicly praising the Portuguese manager’s impact on Trentside.

Hudson-Odoi said: “I think he’s done amazing work since he came in, and I think everyone is really happy. The players and the staff, and the fans will all be really happy, and hopefully, we can move on and do more successful things, and we’re all delighted he’s signed a new contract.

“He’s a great manager and a great person to speak to as well. You can have good conversations with him, he makes everyone feel good, making sure we’re ready for games and for training so he’s a very nice person to speak to and he really gets the best out of us.”
