Nottingham Forest are taking on Real Betis this evening in the club’s first European game for 30 years.
Forest boss Ange Postecoglou went with a pretty intriguing line-up with a mix of the players who got the club European football last season and some new signings.
One of the changes made to the team was perhaps unpopular in the sense that Igor Jesus was tasked with replacing Chris Wood, who bagged 20 goals last season.
However, when the Brazilian scored twice inside the first 23 minutes after Cedric Bakambu had given Betis the lead, the decision didn’t look quite so foolish.
Naturally, the Forest fan base had plenty to say about the decision taken by the head coach.

Forest fans in total agreement about Igor Jesus
This was a 45-minute performance to be proud of for the Brazilian striker, and in fairness, he was unfortunate to be taking the match ball home with him at the end of the first half.
The fans took to social media during the first half and quite simply, they were blown away by the player given the thankless task of stepping into Wood’s shoes.
Another fan said: “Igor Jesus is actually incredible. WOW!”
Another impressed supporter posted: “After tonight, the world will know the name. Igor Jesus!”
Another fan thought it was worth highlighting to the world who the player is about to become, saying: “Igor Jesus remember the name.”
Finally, another fan sent a plea to Postecoglou, saying: “He’s got to start.”
Jesus has given Postecoglou food for thought
Much like he did at Swansea, Jesus scored his first goal when he swept home after some nice build-up play, but his second was just brilliant.
He leapt highest from a corner to nod Forest in front, and his positional sense was simply brilliant from the word go on a warm night in Seville.
Now, Postecoglou has a big decision to make with regards to his strikers, with options galore from the bench, including Wood, who will now understand what he needs to do to get his place back.
