Brazilian defender Cuiabano joined Nottingham Forest at the end of the summer transfer window but was then sent back on loan to Botafogo until January.

With the likes of Nicolo Savona, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Neco Williams, and Ola Aina, who had not yet been ruled out through injury then, all at the club, the best option for all parties was to send him out on loan to secure minutes.

The Tricky Trees rate the fullback highly, and as part of his loan, Forest have given a detailed plan for Cuiabano to make him ready for Premier League football.

Now, Forest fans will no doubt be excited by what the defender did in his latest match for the Brazilian outfit.

Cuiabano scored an excellent goal for Botafogo vs Gremio

Cuiabano seems to be a project signing for Nottingham Forest, and the words from Ross Wilson about the defender make for an exciting future.

The defender is mostly known for his attacking threat and crossing ability and is also capable of tracking back to prevent danger.

However, in Botafogo’s latest match, he showed another asset that he has.

In the 53rd minute against Gremio, Cuiabano made a marauding off-the-ball run to the back post, in which an excellent pass found him free.

With a tidy finish, the Brazilian put Botafogo 1-0 up. It was both a clever run and a great finish from the defender.

Interestingly, Cuiabano seemed to be positioned quite centrally before making his run into the box, showcasing he could potentially fit in as one of Ange Postecoglou’s inverted fullbacks.

Nottingham Forest fans still have quite a way to go before seeing him in the Garibaldi shirt, and the glimpses from Botafogo’s game will keep the excitement going.

Igor Jesus proving transition could be easier for Cuiabano

Igor Jesus’ recent form is proving that players can adapt quickly from the Brazilian Serie A to the Premier League.

The striker has scored four goals in three games for Ange Postecoglou and has given the Australian a lot to think about for his line-ups.

Cuiabano has been given a plan that includes English lessons, so the transition should be a lot easier for the defender once he makes the move in January.

He’ll have the tough task of overtaking the players ahead of him, but he undoubtedly has the quality to do so.
