Nottingham Forest saw their five-game unbeaten run come crashing to a halt as Brighton won 2-0 at the City Ground.
In truth, it could have been more, and Brighton boasted nine efforts in the first half alone, with a single goal coming in stoppage time at the end of the first 45.
Dyche wasn’t happy with what he saw from his team in the opening exchanges, and despite some recent good form, this wasn’t a performance that will live long in the memory.
Forest can shake off this poor display in midweek when a trip to the bottom club, Wolves, is on the agenda for Dyche and his team, with the head coach already hinting at what he might do.

What Sean Dyche has suggested he might do vs Wolves
Omari Hutchinson and Callum Hudson-Odoi were introduced at half-time and that led to Forest having a host of chances to get back into the game against Brighton.
Ultimately, the team couldn’t find a way beyond the Brighton rearguard as the Seagulls richly deserved their three points at the City Ground.
Who was your Forest Man of the Match vs Brighton
Dyche has now had time to see a number of his squad in action and it would appear as though Hutchinson is now on the cusp of a starting berth.
He told BBC Radio Nottingham: “It’s tough on the players, we had such a good result at Liverpool, so it’s hard to take those players out. It’s close calls now, we want that, a group that’s producing, there’s a really good competitive element in the squad. Everyone is competing for a shirt.”
Hutchinson has to play vs Wolves
The talented youngster has waited patiently to start making a difference on the Forest team, and thankfully, under Dyche, he’s been more frequent in receiving minutes.
He was brilliant against Leeds and Liverpool from the bench, and here he was the same, even if he couldn’t provide the catalyst for a comeback.
Hutchinson never gave up trying to get Forest back on level terms and it’s a shame that he’s not been able to start a game in the Premier League with Forest yet.
If Dyche isn’t going to play Hutchinson away at Wolves, then it’s not clear when he’s going to get a start in the Premier League for Forest.
With Dan Ndoye and Nicolas Dominguez playing poorly against Brighton, there really are no excuses for Dyche not to thrust Hutchinson into action at Molineux on Wednesday.
