Nottingham Forest are set to do battle with Wolves on Wednesday night, with both teams needing points in the Premier League.
The performances have clearly improved under Rob Edwards for Wolves, but ultimately, they’re without a win in 13 Premier League matches this season.
Forest go into the match after suffering a first defeat in six matches against Brighton, with the performances vastly improved under Sean Dyche.
The Reds won’t want to keep looking over their shoulders at the bottom three, and the Christmas period sees lots of opportunities to put points on the board for the Reds.

Referee named for Wolves vs Nottingham Forest
Will Nottingham Forest beat Wolves at Molineux?
Naturally, in the Premier League these days, fans are eager to discover who the referee will be taking charge of each individual game.
The game in midweek is being refereed by Tim Robinson, and that might be a good omen for Forest given the team’s record when he’s overseen the Reds’ games.
Robinson has been nursing an injury this season and as a result, he’s only actually taken charge of three Premier League games, with his most recent coming on Saturday at Sunderland for their game against Bournemouth.
The last Forest game Robinson took charge of was in October 2024, as Chris Wood scored the only goal of the game against Crystal Palace.
Before then, he’d taken charge of a 2-1 win over Manchester United in 2023 and also oversaw the 1-0 victory at Stamford Bridge over Chelsea earlier that year.
You have to go all the way back to September 2020 for the last game that Robinson reffed when Forest were beaten, with QPR running out 2-0 winners at the start of the season, played behind closed doors.
Dyche will need game plan to combat Wolves threat
It goes without saying that there is no excuse for Forest not to be winning at Molineux, and the incentive to put more room between the bottom three is clear.
Forest need to make sure the game plan is right, with Edwards getting a couple of good performances out of his team, even if he’s not had any points for his efforts just yet.
Dyche will be only too aware that things can quickly change in the Premier League and hopefully, Forest can avoid the humiliation of losing to a team without a win tomorrow night.
