Nottingham Forest are set to finally have Cuiabano on the training ground with his loan at Botafogo now officially ended.
Forest completed the deal for the left-back in the summer before allowing him to return to Botafogo, where he’s just finished the domestic campaign with the club.
It’s been another successful season for the defender, who had previously won the league title with the club, and now he will try to make a name for himself in England.
With Forest short on full-backs, it might not be long in the New Year before Cuiabano is getting a chance to shine under the influence of Sean Dyche.

What Cuiabano has said about leaving Botafogo
It would appear that Cuiabano has struck up quite a rapport with the fans at Botafogo, and he’s suggested that he’s sad to be leaving the club.
Cuiabano was given a hero’s send-off ahead of his move to Forest, and after his last match, which ended in a 4-2 win over Fortaleza, he’s made an intriguing claim.
He told Globo Esporte: “I’m very happy with the time I lived at Botafogo. Since I arrived, they have welcomed me so well.
“Last year was so special. We won the Libertadores, the league… I’m very grateful because every time I stepped on the pitch, I gave my life. I don’t play only for myself, but for them too.
“It’s a see you soon. I hope to come back in the future. I never stopped saying this is my home.”
Forest should give Cuiabano a chance
With Neco Williams the only current option at left-back, it makes perfect sense for Dyche to start utilising Cuiabano once he can be registered in January.
Do you want to see Cuiabano get a chance in the Forest first team?
Forest still have Europe to compete in at the turn of the year, and having Cuiabano available for some of those games could be very useful.
At 23, the Brazilian looks like a player for the future, but given that he scored six goals and claimed five assists in 2025, it’s clear that he can play.
Now, it’s up to him to prove that he can do it in England, and hopefully, these comments about going back to Botafogo are nothing to worry about, and he just means at the end of his time in the Premier League.
