Chris Wood hasn’t been seen in the red of Nottingham Forest since mid-October.
He picked up an injury either during a 3-0 defeat to Chelsea or shortly after, with Sean Dyche yet to be able to call upon the striker since he came to the club.
With goals largely coming in short supply this season, Dyche has had to find other ways to go, with Igor Jesus and Arnaud Kalimuendo the two strikers available right now.
With the injury sustained by Wood being somewhat cloak-and-dagger, Dyche has now given an update on the talisman ahead of tonight’s game with FC Utrecht.

Sean Dyche delivers update on Chris Wood
It doesn’t appear as though this is going to be a quick fix for Wood, the man who scored 20 goals in Forest colours last season.
He’s been sorely missed, and only last week did Jesus manage to find the net in a Premier League game for the first time.
Ahead of tonight’s game with Utrecht, Dyche provided another Forest fitness update and shared some information on Wood.
He said in his press conference: “Wood’s making progress, which is good. He’s on the grass, and he’s still had a couple of days on the grass.
“It’s still a bit of a slow burner that one, it’s not going to be immediate, but he’s back out there and just starting the process, so that’s good news.”

Forest might have to dip into the transfer market
Kalimuendo has hardly played in the Premier League, and he’s been attracting interest from other parties.
As a result, that could lead Dyche to try and attack a forward in the transfer market, with Santiago Castro one name to be linked with Forest already.
Forest could be in the mix for a number of different players, with the injury situation showing no sign of ending.
💰WHAT would be YOUR dream January transfer window for Nottingham Forest?🤑
Dyche knows that the situation is growing perilous in the Premier League, and he will surely want to make his own mark on the dressing room next month.
Evangelos Marinakis isn’t one to sit on his hands during transfer windows and as a result, it’s hard to imagine him not signing a striker in January.
