The transfer saga involving Morgan Gibbs-White and Tottenham was one of the most intriguing of all time in the summer.

When Tottenham reportedly activated a £60 million release clause, Forest fans were incensed. Only Evangelos Marinakis was adamant that Spurs had activated the clause illegally.

And so it proved, with the deal ending up off and Marinakis declaring that Gibbs-White had signed a new contract shortly after a pre-season game in which he declared, ‘In the end, we always win’.

Yesterday, Gibbs-White handed Spurs a double blow by contributing to a superb Forest performance, leading by example with the captain’s armband.

Morgan Gibbs-White posts cryptic image after Forest win

The 25-year-old made the decision that he felt was the best thing for him in the summer and given how Tottenham are currently performing, he shouldn’t have any regrets.

Admittedly, Forest have endured a pretty awful start to the season, but Sean Dyche has at least come in and started to get a tune out of a strong squad of players.

After the match, Gibbs-White took to Instagram to share a message with the Forest fans, and the image that he used is somewhat intriguing.

He’s picked a photograph of him covering his mouth whilst seemingly laughing, looking in the distance, with Elliot Anderson for comfort.

Both Anderson and Hutchinson appear to have been a bit mischievous after this post from Gibbs-White.

Anderson posted the shush emoji on Gibbs-White’s post, seemingly in the direction of Tottenham, who have done a lot of talking since the summer.

The fans have been amused at Forest’s plight this season but there were no smiles from the away end as the Reds ran riot against the hapless Londoners.

Hutchinson also weighed in and posted a giggling emoji to join the pile on at Tottenham’s expense and all three players now look to be integral to Forest’s fortunes going into a busy period of games.
