Callum Hudson-Odoi returned to the Nottingham Forest team and made a welcome return to form to stifle Tottenham.
Hudson-Odoi has struggled for a starting berth in Sean Dyche’s team since returning from a minor injury and has been forced to make an impact from the bench.
Dyche gave the winger a start after Hudson-Odoi received praise from Michail Antonio in midweek as the Reds came back from Utrecht with all three points.
Hudson-Odoi scored twice for Forest as they managed to go five points clear of the relegation zone, and his second goal was a bit fortuitous to say the least.

Callum Hudson-Odoi explains whether his second goal was a fluke
Hudson-Odoi’s first came after Ibrahim Sangare dispossessed Archie Gray in the penalty area and gave Hudson-Odoi a tap-in to open the scoring.
His second was much more intriguing, with Hudson-Odoi floating a ball towards the penalty area and seeing it bamboozle everyone and nestle into the net.

Hudson-Odoi was naturally asked about his second goal of the game against Tottenham and as a former Chelsea player, it’s likely that he enjoyed his outing yesterday.
He said: “To get a goal I’m buzzing with it, and I’m happy for the result as well.
“I’d say it’s a shot/cross. It’s a mixture of both. I’m buzzing. The whole team’s performance was a collective performance, and we’re really happy with the way things went today.
“From minute one, the way we were playing, you could tell we really wanted the game today. We want to be getting wins like this, and we want everybody to see how hard we’re working.”
Hudson-Odoi now deserves regular start in the Forest team
Dyche will be under no illusions now of the star quality that Hudson-Odoi possesses and it’s important that he gives him the chance to get a run of games under his belt.
Hudson-Odoi has been a superb player for Forest since Steve Cooper took a chance on him for just £3 million from Chelsea in 2023.
Who was the Nottingham Forest Man of the Match vs Tottenham
He will know that his number of goals and assists could be better and the challenge for him is to ensure that he stays on track now by scoring more often than not.
Hudson-Odoi is still only 25-years-old and with Dan Ndoye badly out of form, there really is no reason whatsoever for the former Chelsea man not to be getting a run of games.
