Nottingham Forest are gearing up for some activity during the January transfer window.
Although players will look to be signed by Sean Dyche, the immediate priority might be to get a few players out of the club who are deemed surplus to requirements.
Dwight McNeil is one player linked with Forest, and he’s a player who knows Dyche extremely well from his time playing at Burnley and Everton in the past.
In the opposite direction, Arnaud Kalimuendo seemingly has half of Ligue 1 wanting to take him in January and given that he’s out of favour, there’s likely a deal to be made.
Now, another player could be set to leave the City Ground before his Forest career has really got going.

Nottingham Forest could let Jair Cunha leave
Signed as a very highly-rated defender, Cunha has been restricted to just two outings at Forest; one against Swansea in the Carabao Cup and the other against Newcastle in the Premier League.
According to O Globo, the 20-year-old central defender is wanted on loan by Flamengo as they prepare for the new Brazilian season to get underway.
Cunha has been considered the fourth choice central defender, with Morato viewed as the first reserve for Nikola Milenkovic and Murillo.
Forest do see the youngster as being one for the future, but right now, it seems largely pointless to keep him at the club and stifle his development when he’s simply not playing.
Against Fulham, Cunha was playing for the B-Team against Wolves at the same time, with Dyche not even making him part of his 20-man matchday squad.
Cunha deserves more opportunities
With Morato’s form largely proving erratic when he’s called upon, Cunha would perhaps be the better first reserve.
Clearly, Milenkovic and Murillo aren’t getting dropped any time soon, but when the Brazilian was injured recently, it must have hurt Cunha that he still couldn’t get minutes.
💰WHAT would be YOUR dream January transfer window for Nottingham Forest?🤑
If Forest do let the uncompromising Brazilian leave, it should only be on loan, with Cunha likely to be capable of making an impact in the future.
In the short term, playing football is paramount for the player’s development and it’d be no surprise to see him depart the Reds in the next month.
