Rarely seen Nottingham Forest player subject of concrete interest ahead of January window

Nottingham Forest signed a number of new players in the summer, and as a result, some have found first-team football hard to come by.

The Reds were keen to strengthen the squad ahead of a campaign playing Europa League football, with Evangelos Marinakis flexing his ambition once again.

Sean Dyche has revived the team’s fortunes to a certain extent on Trentside, and he will hope his team can pull further clear of the relegation zone on Monday night with a result over Fulham.

With the January transfer window just around the corner, Dyche will want to strengthen his squad, and it would appear that some of the current Forest squad will head out during next month too.

Arnaud Kalimuendo attracts interest from France

The striker signed for Forest from Rennes in the summer of 2025 but has found regular action hard to come by, with Igor Jesus preferred by Dyche.

Unless Forest can sign another striker, it would be a hard decision to let Kalimuendo go, given that Chris Wood is still not yet back from an injury problem of his own.

According to Get French Football News, Paris FC are in pole position for Kalimuendo should the Reds decide to let him leave on loan in January.

The Frenchman has been getting minutes in the Europa League, with goals for Kalimuendo coming in successful games against Malmö and FC Utrecht in recent weeks.

Kalimuendo has been struggling for minutes in the Premier League, however, and as a result, he could be one player that the Reds look to loan out during the January window.

Forest need to keep Kalimuendo

If Kalimuendo does want to head out and play regular football, there might not be anything Forest can do, but in reality, the Reds should be keeping hold of the talisman.

Forest are somewhat short of attacking options at the moment, and unless any new signings are added, Kalimuendo should be kept around the City Ground.

Although Dyche would dearly love to add his own players to the City Ground ranks, the huge outlay on players in the summer will likely mean the club has to remain frugal in the market.

Kalimuendo looks like a player who can continue to get better with more game time and hopefully, Dyche keeps him around and continues to help him grow as a Premier League player.
