Nottingham Forest face a huge game with West Ham on Tuesday night at The London Stadium.

The Reds won 2-1 at the same venue in last season’s final away game of the campaign, and they desperately need a similar result in midweek.

One man who was missing from the Forest ranks in the 3-1 defeat was Callum Hudson-Odoi, with the player’s omission causing some intrigue among the fan base.

Now, with a huge game on the horizon, Sean Dyche has been quizzed on the real reason why Hudson-Odoi didn’t play at Villa Park at the weekend.

What Sean Dyche has said about Callum Hudson-Odoi

The Forest head coach is once again left with more questions than answers and his style of play is seriously starting to grate on the fan base.

Hudson-Odoi’s omission was far from ideal, and it meant that Dilane Bakwa was forced to play in a game where, frankly, he was completely isolated.

It does appear as though Hudson-Odoi might be back for Forest on Tuesday, however, with Dyche discussing the decision to leave him out against Villa.

He told Nottinghamshire Live: “Callum has a knock so we’ve had to leave him out of this one. We don’t think Callum is too serious. It’s more of a maintenance situation, but this game came around a bit too quickly.”

Forest need Hudson-Odoi back quickly

With Bakwa struggling for minutes and match practice and Dan Ndoye currently out injured too, it really is imperative that Hudson-Odoi returns fast.

Hudson-Odoi hit form last month against Tottenham, scoring twice and it’s a real shame that Forest can’t call upon the winger at the moment.

Scoring goals has proved a real problem for Forest this season and it’s important that Hudson-Odoi gets himself back on the pitch as a matter of urgency.

Forest simply can’t afford to lose the game at West Ham and with Arsenal to come next, it would be great to put some daylight between the Reds and the bottom three in the Premier League.
