Nottingham Forest player to seal City Ground exit, medical expected imminently

Nottingham Forest will likely do some reshuffling of the squad during the January transfer window.

Sean Dyche will want to stick his own stamp on the City Ground squad, with survival his only remit between now and the end of the campaign.

James McAtee has been linked with a move away from Forest, with other players also attracting interest with the transfer window now open.

Willy Boly is wanted by Sheffield United when he returns from the African Cup of Nations, with outgoing deals likely to be the order of the day for Forest in January.

Arnaud Kalimuendo will leave Nottingham Forest today

With the Forest squad heading to London today ahead of tomorrow’s huge clash against West Ham, it doesn’t look as though Kalimuendo will be there.

The French striker is heading to Frankfurt, where he will spend the second half of the season on loan, and the Bundesliga outfit holding an option to land him permanently in the summer.

Kalimuendo scored in back-to-back Europa League games last month but he’s not been able to convince Dyche when it comes to giving him a chance in the Premier League.

Sky Sports Germany has claimed that the deal is still expected to go through imminently, despite the decision made by Dyche to bring Kalimuendo off the bench against Aston Villa on Saturday.

They believe that a medical will take place as early as today and that Kalimuendo will soon be announced as a new Frankfurt player.

Forest will regret offloading Kalimuendo

It’s completely ridiculous that Forest are struggling for goals and are now going to offload one of their strikers at a time when Chris Wood is injured and Taiwo Awoniyi hasn’t scored in the Premier League for a year.

Dyche will fall on his sword if this deal goes wrong, and frankly, it’s laughable that such an outlay can be spent on a player in the summer and then the head coach washes his hands of him just six months later.

Kalimuendo deserved more game time, and his ability to pull defenders into the channels might have made him the perfect player to unleash against Everton in midweek.

It’s hard not to see him ripping things up in Germany and this will almost certainly be a transfer deal that Forest live to regret.
