Sean Dyche was a relieved man as Nottingham Forest edged past West Ham at The London Stadium.

The Forest head coach saw his side win a Premier League game for the first time after trailing at the break since the team won promotion back to the division in 2022.

Nicolas Dominguez and Morgan Gibbs-White scored the goals for the Reds and ultimately, this was a game that simply had to be won at any cost.

Murillo’s own goal did threaten to plunge Forest into crisis and Dyche admitted he was aware of some ‘noise’ in the build-up to the huge Premier League clash.

Dyche delivers sarcastic response during interview

It’s hard to know if Dyche was taking any sort of shot at the fans who have doubted him but it did feel as though he had something he wanted to get off his chest post-match.

⭐Who was your STAR MAN during Nottingham Forest’s win over West Ham

Dyche was criticised for heading straight down the tunnel after Saturday’s defeat at Aston Villa, with fans feeling he should have fronted up.

It’s never really been his style but after a huge victory, Dyche advised the club’s supporters to take a look towards the bigger picture.

Dyche said in his press conference: “There’s been a lot of noise coming into this game, which I find a bit strange. Okay, we’ve lost four, but I think if you look at the bigger picture, it’s nine points in eight games or something like that, and when you look at where we were when we came in, and you look at some of the teams down there, I think they’d be happy with that return.”

Dyche has to improve the performance levels at Forest

Naturally, Forest have won some games under Dyche to keep the pressure off in terms of the relegation zone.

However, going into this game, things were somewhat perilous, and it’s easy to see why fans were growing anxious at the situation.

Nobody is doubting that Dyche has got some wins, but the issue with the current boss is that when it’s bad, it’s absolutely horrific.

The performance level was hardly anything to get excited about here against West Ham but ultimately, the Reds came up against a team who are worse than them.

Dyche has talked the talk when it comes to being fond of the football club and if that’s the case he would be wise to take some responsibility for the poor form.

Forest have to become harder to beat and hopefully, this result can be the start of Dyche starting to pick up a few more points here and there rather than either winning or losing.
