Nottingham Forest beat West Ham 2-1, with the Reds plunging the Hammers further into the relegation mire.

Nuno Espirito Santo looked dejected as he saw his former club claim a huge victory right at the death to leave West Ham well and truly stunned.

Goals were scored by Nicolas Dominguez and Morgan Gibbs-White against the Hammers, and Forest now have a real platform to work from, with a seven-point gap to the bottom three.

Gibbs-White’s late penalty took a lot of courage, given that he missed his last one against Sturm Graz, and his latest goal ensured a massive three points.

The captain spoke to the press after the game and singled out a teammate for praise.

Morgan Gibbs-White hails Forest star Nicolas Dominguez

Gibbs-White played pretty well against the Hammers, but he wasn’t as influential as the superb Dominguez.

The Argentine has been given a run in his usual position, with Ryan Yates and Ibrahim Sangare currently available and he grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck last night.

⭐Who was your STAR MAN during Nottingham Forest’s win over West Ham

Gibbs-White said what most fans were thinking after the game and hailed Dominguez.

He said in his post-match interview: “What I like was that we didn’t give up, we kept going and got the win.

“Again, we seemed to concede just after half time again, but when it got disallowed, we seemed to kick on, and I’m just glad we didn’t give up and played well from that point.

“The goal put us on a downer, but the header from Dominguez, it’s an incredible header, he’s done really well to get it in from there. He was incredible all night.

“No doubts, I was practising it yesterday, it was kind of a safety one, but just pleased we got the three points.”

Nicolas Dominguez is vastly underrated

The Argentine cops some flak from some Forest fans, but thankfully, people are starting to open their eyes.

Who Scored showcased his brilliance last night with four tackles made by the player, and he covered pretty much every single blade of grass.

Sangare was playing well before he headed to the African Cup of Nations and should come back into the team when he returns to action in the next month.

However, it’s great that Gibbs-White has recognised that Dominguez was superb and his influence in the dressing room is clearly there for all to see.

The Argentine clearly values the football club, and his celebration when he scored the equalising goal highlighted exactly how much he’s up for the relegation fight that Forest find themselves in.
