Nottingham Forest claimed a big win over West Ham United to breathe life into their fight against relegation.

Sean Dyche’s team came from behind to win 2-1 with Nicolas Dominguez and Morgan Gibbs-White getting the goals.

Gibbs-White hailed Dominguez for his efforts and the Reds will hopefully look back on this game as a turning point in their campaign.

Dyche was in sarcastic mood after the game, pointing to the fact that he’s helped Forest keep their head above water since he arrived at the football club.

Wes Morgan hails Nottingham Forest star Nicolas Dominguez

Morgan knows a thing or two about playing for Forest given his affiliation with the club and he currently works in a scouting capacity at the City Ground.

Last night, he was working for Premier League Productions covering the game overseas and he admitted that Dominguez played better than Gibbs-White.

In the second half in particular, Dominguez stood up to be counted and the Argentine was clearly delighted to get his goal.

Morgan said: “Yeah, really quiet by his standards (Morgan Gibbs-White).

“I think Dominguez had a really good game, you know, he really went about the game, tried to get on the ball, tried to create and probe.

“But yeah, when you need your big players to step up and do the difficult job. I’m not a guy for penalties, you know, you speak to Jermain probably more about that. But yeah, it was a crucial moment um at the end of the game with a penalty that needed to be scored, and he stepped up and scored it.”

Dominguez deserves more credit for Forest performances

Much like Ryan Yates when he’s fit, Dominguez is Forest’s very own workhorse in the midfield.

The running he gets through is outrageously good and it’s about time that fans became unanimous in their praise for Dominguez.

With the World Cup on the horizon, Dominguez will want to do enough to secure a place in the holders’ squad for the tournament next summer.

In order to do that he needs to stay in the Forest team and if he keeps popping up with important goals like this, he will surely be in the mix.

Morgan was right to laud Dominguez and with a seven point gap to West Ham, hopefully this can prove to be the night that saw Forest transform their season.
