Nottingham Forest are looking to reshuffle the squad this month, with Arnaud Kalimuendo already leaving the club.

Kalimuendo might not be the only departure from the City Ground during January, with Sean Dyche looking to offload some more players.

Forest will also try to add to the squad this month with a new striker definitely likely to be on the shortlist of targets for Dyche.

Jorgen Strand Larsen is wanted by Forest, but at £40 million, he may prove too expensive to get over the line during the January transfer window.

It would appear that Forest are facing some interest in their players this month, however, with one player now the subject of interest from a club in Brazil.

Palmeiras want Forest defender Morato

According to Felipe Silva, Palmeiras are very keen to sign Morato this month, making enquiries about his availability.

Morato was poor in the penalty defeat to Wrexham on Friday night, and it may come as a surprise that Forest don’t want to sell him.

Would you let Morato leave in January?

Let us know why in the comments below…

The Brazilian was added to the ranks for £10 million in the summer, and last season, he largely did a good job when thrown on as a substitute to see games out.

When he’s been asked to start, however, Morato has proved a bit of a liability, and now the time has perhaps come to get him off the books.

Forest don’t share that sentiment, however, believing Morato still has a part to play this season.

Jair Cunha is better fit for Forest than Morato

Although Morato is hardly old at 24, Cunha does feel like a player Forest should be giving more minutes to.

The Brazilian youngster was good against Wrexham on Friday, and there’s an argument that he should be ahead of Morato in the pecking order.

One issue for any backup central defender at Forest is that Murillo and Nikola Milenkovic are both so strong, and when they’re fit and available, they will play.

With Forest eyeing around £15 million for Morato’s services, this month could represent the perfect time to offload him if Palmeiras are really keen.
