Sean Dyche throws Evangelos Marinakis under the bus with big Nottingham Forest claim

Sean Dyche is facing a fight to truly convince the Nottingham Forest fans of his ability.

Nobody had much perception that Dyche would be anything other than a firefighter at the City Ground and his tenure so far has gone according to plan.

Dyche has overseen some excellent results, most notably against Liverpool and Tottenham, but drab performances against Everton – twice – Fulham and Aston Villa have started the alarm bells ringing.

Dyche threw his players under the bus last weekend after Forest exited the FA Cup, suggesting that the fringe players he selected wouldn’t be knocking on his door again anytime soon.

Now, the Forest head coach is at it again only this time he appears to have thrown Evangelos Marinakis and the football club under the bus over one January deal.

Sean Dyche makes intriguing claim about Arnaud Kalimuendo deal

Kalimuendo left Forest to sign for Eintracht Frankfurt earlier in the transfer window and quite clearly it was a decision made by Dyche and his coaching staff.

Given that Kalimuendo is a poacher and a player who runs the channels, he was never going to get a look in with Dyche who always preferred a striker befitting the stereotypical target man.

However, with fans bemoaning Dyche’s desire to offload Kalimuendo, he’s made an intriguing claim in his pre-Arsenal press conference that suggests it was the club’s decision.

He said: “The obvious one is the striker area because we’re a bit short there. The club felt it was a really good deal for Kalimuendo to go out.

“We are looking at various options to bring in. That (a striker) is the obvious one that jumps off the page.”

Dyche must think Forest fans are stupid

If Dyche genuinely believes that the fans will buy that the club took the decision over Kalimuendo out of his hands, then it’s really poor from the head coach.

Kalimuendo clearly wasn’t fancied by Dyche. He scored two goals in two games in the Europa League and his Premier League reward was five substitute appearances, accumulating a measly 25 minutes.

Forest would now be wise to back Dyche with a striker but refuse to get him any other players that he recommends, particularly if it means his players coming on long-term deals.

Dyche shouldn’t be afforded another second as the club’s head coach once this season finishes and these comments on Kalimuendo are extremely risky indeed.
