Nottingham Forest offer surprising swap deal to beat Aston Villa to Tammy Abraham signing

Nottingham Forest want to sign a striker this month, with Tammy Abraham in the club’s sights.

The Besiktas striker could leave Turkey this month, and Villa want to land their former loan striker as they look to finish the season with Champions League qualification.

Abraham hasn’t been playing in England for a number of years now, and quite clearly, it would appear he’s ready for another crack at the Premier League.

Forest are keen to sign Lorenzo Lucca this month, but he has not yet decided whether or not a move to England is something that he wants to do.

Besiktas want Taiwo Awoniyi in Tammy Abraham deal

According to Fanatik in Turkey, Forest initially offered Chris Wood as part of a swap deal that would have seen Abraham come the other way.

That does seem curious given that Wood is yet to play under Sean Dyche after requiring surgery on a knee problem sustained when Ange Postecoglou was in charge.

Besiktas weren’t keen on taking a chance on Wood, given his fitness concerns this season, but came back with a proposal that included Taiwo Awoniyi.

The Nigerian striker is said to be angling for a move to Germany this month, but talks are ongoing between Besiktas over a possible deal before the window closes.

Awoniyi was overlooked against Arsenal at the weekend, and it does appear as though he’s now finished at the City Ground after failing to impress Dyche.

Would you do a deal that involved swapping Taiwo Awoniyi for Tammy Abraham?

Abraham would be game changing signing for Forest

The Reds do have to work on creating more chances for whoever plays in attack, but having a player like Abraham at the top end of the pitch would be quality.

Abraham knows where the back of the net is, and ultimately, he’d be viewed as a big coup for a team currently occupying 17th place in the Premier League.

At 28, Abraham is in decent form with 13 goals this season, and he would surely relish the chance to return to the Premier League after a number of years in Italy and, more recently, Turkey.

Forest need to make sure more firepower is added before the month is out, and hopefully, some movement can be made on a deal for Abraham.
