Nottingham Forest claimed a very good draw against Arsenal at the City Ground at the weekend.

Sean Dyche can’t dwell on the goalless draw, however, with a trip to Braga to look forward to in the Europa League.

Elliot Anderson was in top form against Arsenal, and it was great to see him play so well for the first time in a few weeks.

How many points will Nottingham Forest take from these next five Premier League games?

Forest had a number of top performers in their ranks against Arsenal, and this was the type of display that fans anticipated more often when Dyche was appointed.

One player has been pulled out for praise by one of the game’s leading pundits, with Forest getting a pick for his Team of the Week.

Alan Shearer names Matz Sels in Team of the Week

It’s quite remarkable that Troy Deeney didn’t name a single Forest player in his Team of the Week, despite Forest becoming the second team all season to stop Arsenal scoring.

Shearer, however, has a much better reputation when it comes to punditry, and he has named Sels in the official Team of the Week.

Sels was instrumental in the Forest clean sheet, producing a world-class stop to prevent Bukayo Saka from heading Arsenal into a late lead.

Shearer said on the Premier League website: “Made one good save and one outstanding stop to deny Bukayo Saka, kept his clean sheet well.”

Sels has taken some time to replicate his form from last season during 2025/26, and hopefully, Sels is now edging back towards his best form.

Forest have a decision to make this summer

Sels will have a year to run on his existing deal when the summer transfer window comes around, but at 33-years-old, Forest have a decision to make.

The Belgian is a brilliant goalkeeper, but with Carlos Miguel last season and John Victor this campaign failing to provide competition, a new custodian will be sought.

Sels might well remain the number one stopper at the City Ground for one more season, but it’s absolutely vital that he’s got some genuine backup competing for his place.

In the short-term, Sels needs to stay fit, and the hope will be that he can keep showing the level of performance he displayed against Arsenal for the remainder of the campaign.
