Nottingham Forest are going to do some business in the transfer market before the window closes.
However, it would seem as though extra emphasis is being placed on getting players out of the City Ground exit this month, and that doesn’t make a lot of sense.
Although Forest don’t have much wriggle room within their squad, it’s clear that reinforcements are needed if the team are to climb higher up the Premier League table.
Forest want Lorenzo Lucca as their striker signing this month, but he’s got an offer from Pisa and having played for them before, he could choose to help them in their own relegation battle.
Another rumour of a departure has emerged, however, and this one is extremely curious.

Nottingham Forest only want permanent deal for Cuiabano
It’s crazy that just five months after signing Cuiabano for £5.2 million from Botafogo, Forest are now considering selling him, according to Globo Esporte.
They believe that although Vasco da Gama want to take the left-back on loan, Forest’s preference is actually to sell despite the fact he’s yet to play a first-team game.
Cuiabano was part of the Forest B-Team that beat PSG 2-0 at Loughborough University on Monday night, but it would appear a first-team shot isn’t going to be forthcoming.
The player would prefer a return to Botafogo if he were to leave the City Ground before his time in England has even started, but there are complications with that move.
Indeed, this feels like another curious Forest transfer and given that a new left-back is required, it’s surprising the Reds aren’t just going to add the youngster to the squad.

Forest have to stop this shenanigan
Given the mud that was thrown at Forest regarding Evangelos Marinakis and John Textor in the summer, this doesn’t feel like a great look.
However, Textor is the one with a transfer ban right now and that pretty much blocks Cuiabano from being able to sign for Botafogo in this window.
Forest are clearly trying to think more like Brighton and Brentford with the recruitment model of signing unknown gems and giving them a platform to thrive.
However, Forest seem to get rid of them before they’ve even had a chance to shine, and it’s getting pretty ridiculous how many players have signed and not played since promotion.
Forest need a complete reset in the summer on the recruitment front and the hope will be that the club are still competing in the Premier League when it comes to that.
