Nottingham Forest look to have got their man with Lorenzo Lucca on his way to England to sign for the Premier League outfit.
Forest have had to wait patiently to sign the 6ft 7in talisman, but the persistence that he’s the player the club wants has paid off, with the player agreeing to the move.
Lucca is leaving Napoli to try and rediscover his very best form after scoring twice in 23 appearances in all competitions during the 2025/26 campaign.
Forest fans shouldn’t have qualms over his ability to score goals, however, as the striker scored 14 times on loan at Udinese during the 2024/25 campaign.

Nottingham Forest set to sign Lorenzo Lucca
The famous ‘Here we go’ tag line has been hit by Fabrizio Romano, with Lucca now set to travel to England to complete the formalities of his deal.
The transfer guru is constantly on the button with transfers and he believes that the deal will go through in the coming days, with Forest fans naturally hoping he can be available on Sunday.
Forest desperately need a striker and this deal looks like a relatively low-risk deal, with the numbers looking pretty attractive based on what Romano has said.
He believes that Forest are paying £800,000 to land the player on loan, with a clause included that allows the Reds to take the player in a permanent deal for £36 million in the summer.
There is no mandatory purchase option, and as a result, if things don’t work out, Lucca can head back off to Napoli, and nothing will really be lost.
Forest need more in the transfer window
With a striker set to sign in the coming days, Forest must now move on to the next targets, with a central midfielder and a left-sided defender likely to be sought.
Matias Olivera is linked with coming in as the left-back option and given that he’s from Napoli too, signing Lucca might be a good thing in terms of smoothing through that deal.
How many goals will Lorenzo Lucca score this season if Nottingham Forest sign him?
Let us know in the comments below…
Forest need a lift from somewhere and with Igor Jesus scoring one Premier League goal all season, a striker capable of scoring regular goals is a must.
Hopefully, the Italian can rediscover his best form and fire the Reds to safety with ease between now and the end of the season with the club’s Premier League status on the line.
