Nottingham Forest are going in search of some new players before the transfer deadline on Monday.
It wouldn’t be a transfer window for Forest without a late flurry of bids from the powers that be at the City Ground.
Forest are the masters of getting players into the club and also, perhaps to their detriment, the holy grail when it comes to leaving things late!
Forest want Jean-Philippe Mateta as a priority, although Tottenham are now eyeing the Frenchman following their progression to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Now, ahead of tonight’s Europa League game with Ferencvaros, a new link has emerged with Forest eying a top Premier League talent.

Nottingham Forest make bid for Brighton star
According to Tom Collomosse from the Daily Mail, Forest have started the bidding at £20 million for Brighton talent Yasin Ayari.
The Reds are keen to add another midfielder to the ranks after allowing Douglas Luiz to terminate his loan early and sign for Aston Villa from Juventus instead.
The Swedish talent signed for Brighton in 2023 for £3.5 million from AIK and spent time on loan with both Coventry and Blackburn to adapt in English football.
This season, he’s been more frequent in the Brighton team, scoring four goals and claiming one assist in all competitions, with his latest goal against Fulham an absolutely worldie.
Ayari completes more short passes than Ryan Yates, according to Who Scored and as a result, this looks like a very exciting link for the Forest fan base to contend with.

Ayari would be a quality signing for Forest
Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler has called Ayari ‘unbelievable’ since working with him at the football club, and it’s fair to say he looks an exciting player.
With Luiz gone, Forest would be very short if anything happened to either Elliot Anderson or Ibrahim Sangare, and as a result, another midfielder makes sense.
Ayari will be out of contract next summer with the Seagulls, and it would appear as though Forest are trying to chance their arm to tempt Brighton into a sale.
With the Premier League outfit desperate for some consistency themselves, it does feel unlikely that this one will get over the line.
From a Forest perspective, it looks as though the club are certainly looking in the right places for new recruits.
