Nottingham Forest legend Roy Keane is never backwards in coming forward with an opinion, and he’s delivered a relegation verdict on his former club.
Keane works for Sky Sports these days, and although he’s constantly remembered for his efforts with Forest as a player, there is a bitter side to the former midfielder when it comes to Evangelos Marinakis.

What changes would you make?
The Greek hired Keane as part of Martin O’Neill’s backroom team in 2019, but he chose to resign shortly before O’Neill was sacked after 19 games in charge.
That has led to an axe to grind with the Forest owner for Keane, and perhaps that has clouded his opinion somewhat when it comes to discussing the current situation at the bottom of the Premier League table.

Roy Keane now concerned for Nottingham Forest
The quest for survival is heating up, and with 11 games to go in the campaign, Forest have it all to do if they’re to get themselves to safety.
West Ham are playing well, with 11 points from their last six games, and the general consensus is that Tottenham will have enough to pull clear of the drop zone eventually.
Keane has admitted on the latest episode of The Overlap that he’s now deeply concerned for Forest, advising Vitor Pereira what he must do at the club.
He said: “The team that looks a bit doomed at the moment, you would say, is Forest. I know they have a new coach going in, and you think he needs a good start, fourth manager, new ideas, a big weekend coming up.”
Long way to go in the relegation battle for Forest
The Reds are still the team currently outside the relegation zone, and with the games coming thick and fast, there is still time for Forest to rescue this season.
West Ham might be playing well at the moment, but there will be some twists and turns along the way that each team in the mix has to contend with.
Forest will hope that Pereira can keep the positive performances coming, and if that is the case, it shouldn’t be long before the team are putting points on the board more frequently.
Keane’s comments might be coming from the heart with genuine concern, or they could be lingering around his head with the pundit likely to be wishing the team go down this season.
Either way, it’s another pundit writing Forest off and that will sit just fine with Pereira.
