David Prutton has taken aim at the underperforming Nottingham Forest players after another defeat to Brighton.

The gap between the Reds and West Ham is now just two points and the Hammers know that a win over Fulham on Wednesday night should see them climb out of the relegation zone, with Forest unlikely to get anything at Manchester City.

How would rate Morgan Gibbs-White’s performances for Nottingham Forest this season?

The season on the whole has been a complete mess for Forest, with underperforming new signings not really making their mark on the squad amid four managers taking the hot seat at the City Ground.

Now, Prutton thinks it’s about time the players rolled their sleeves up and started to deliver for the supporters.

David Prutton makes call to Nottingham Forest stars

As a fan of the club from his days as a player, Prutton has spoken from the heart on the latest Forest Focus podcast and he’s a bit sick and tired of these players.

Evangelos Marinakis canvassed player opinion after a 0-0 draw with Wolves recently, leading to Sean Dyche being sacked.

Prutton is fed up with making excuses for these players and now thinks it’s time the players took a look at themselves in the mirror.

“Forest fans have done their job. Now, these players that are getting paid vast sums of money, sorry lads, you’re going to have to dig really deep.”

Gibbs-White agrees with Prutton

From captain Gibbs-White, there has been no shirking of his responsibilities and at least there is recognition from inside the camp.

Gibbs-White has claimed that players need to look in the mirror, and he will be issuing his own home truths to his teammates in the coming days for certain.

It’s all words and no actions from a Forest perspective, however, with players regularly coming out and telling the fans to stick with them, it’s about time they started producing in the Premier League.

After a brilliant start for Forest under Vitor Pereira away at Fenerbahce, the Reds were stung in the 97th minute by Liverpool and then played poorly again at Brighton on Sunday.

It simply won’t do, and too many players are either playing badly or simply so short on confidence that they’re borderline feeling sorry for themselves.

Prutton is spot on and now, the players need to roll up their sleeves and turn in a performance that the fans can be proud of against Manchester City in midweek.
