Nottingham Forest defender Nicolo Savona has been missing for a number of months through injury.
The 25-year-old was settling nicely at the City Ground, covering pretty well for Ola Aina, who needed hamstring surgery earlier in the season.
Who was the worst performing player against Brighton?
The Reds slipped to a 2-1 defeat…
Vitor Pereira has yet to see Savona in action since arriving at the club towards the end of last month, and with full-back options sparse, he could do with the Italian.
Savona promised to give his all for Forest when he arrived from Juventus, but he has not played since playing the full 90 minutes of a 1-0 defeat in Braga.
Now, Pereira has shared a worrying update on the full-back.

Vitor Pereira shares Nicolo Savona injury update
After two poor performances for Neco Williams against Fenerbahce and Brighton, fans have been wondering whether Savona is anywhere close to a return.
The short answer is no, with Pereira delivering an emphatic and worrying response.
He said in his press conference: “I really don’t know if he will play again this season.
“After the surgery, they will say something and will inform us, but it is difficult for him.”
In total, Savona has made 14 appearances for Forest in the Premier League, scoring two crucial goals against Manchester United and Liverpool.

Now, Forest look to be in trouble when it comes to full-back options, and it’s up to Pereira to come up with some solutions for the remainder of the campaign.
