Edu has seen his position at Nottingham Forest come under scrutiny just lately, and now there has been a decision made it would seem.
The Global Head of Football only came to the City Ground in the summer, but within weeks, Edu fell out with Nuno Espirito Santo, with the Portuguese manager eventually leaving.
On a scale of 1-10 how happy are you that Edu is set to leave Forest?
The players landed by Edu have hardly caught fire this season, with Douglas Luiz already departing the club and Oleksandr Zinchenko playing a handful of games before having his loan terminated.
Now, with nine games of the season left, Romano has delivered an update on Edu, with Evangelos Marinakis making a definitive decision on the Brazilian.

Fabrizio Romano says Edu has been sacked
It would appear as though it’s almost over for Edu in an official sense when it comes to working with Nottingham Forest, with Romano posting an emphatic update on X this morning.

He said: It’s over between director Edu Gaspar and Nottingham Forest. The Brazilian director will part ways with Forest very soon; it’s all decided internally.
“Edu has been a big part of Arsenal’s rebuilding for 5 years, signed at Forest in July 2025, but now set to leave as the relationship with ownership is broken.”
It’s not clear what exactly has broken the relationship with Marinakis, and it does feel as though this decision hasn’t been taken lightly.
Forest will now hope to survive this season and appoint a new Global Head of Football, with Marinakis keen to protect his investment and remain in the Premier League for another season.
Edu’s position has become untenable, and ultimately, it’s now up to Marinakis to stop making poor decisions and ensure this chapter of the Premier League journey doesn’t end in complete disaster.
